Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of: Academic performance Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities Honors Work experience A positive attitude essay An online recommendation from a school official, mentor or supervisor Financial need will not be considered. Awards will be strictly based on merit. Scholarship America will select thirty finalists (fifteen per school) and each high school will select four recipients. In no instance does any officer or employee of The William Gawor Perpetual Scholarship Fund play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
