Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Joe Lieberman Connecticut Scholarship Fund. Payment is made in one installment in mid-August. Selection Criteria Academic performance Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities Work experience An essay describing a time (or times) in your life when you have collaborated with people who have had a different viewpoint from your own, and what you learned from the experience Unusual personal or family circumstances An online recommendation Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential and record of community service and collaboration with people of differing views Financial need is not considered. Scholarship America will select 15 finalists, and the Joe Lieberman Connecticut Scholarship Committee will select 5 recipients. All applicants agree to accept the award decisions as final. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
