PGA of America - New England Section advances golf and community impact across New England through a broad foundation and member-service structure that includes scholarships, youth development, diversity and inclusion work, women’s networking, military veteran programming, education, tournaments, and chapter activity in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Its scholarship work is a defining part of that mission. Since its inception, PGA REACH New England has awarded more than $1,000,000 in college scholarships to the children, grandchildren, and step-children of PGA Professionals, along with junior golfers in New England. The section states that it is continuing to grow both the number of scholarships available and the amount of funding offered each year. For the 2026 cycle, the New England PGA Scholarship Program lists a national scholarship application opening on December 9, 2025, a section application opening on March 2, 2026, and a closing date of May 29, 2026. The program is organized through PGA REACH New England and its Scholarship Committee and includes a wide range of named awards that connect educational support to the section’s golf community and regional chapters. Those awards include the Bill Flynn Family Award, Gary Philbrick Award, George S. Wemyss Award, Jimmy Noris Award, Maine Chapter Award, Massachusetts Chapter Award, Michael F. Wortis Award, NEPGA Junior Tour Award, New Hampshire Chapter Award, Stan Baluik Award, Ted & Anne O’Rourke Award, Tom Murphy Award, Tom Tetrault Award - Youth Golf, Tom Tetrault Award - Armed Forces & Veterans, and Vermont Chapter Award. The section’s foundation menu also places the scholarship program alongside PGA HOPE, the New England Veteran Series, PGA WORKS Fellowship, and youth development programs, showing an organization that links golf leadership with education, service, and regional community investment.
