Oregon State University

Oregon State University is a public land grant research university based in Corvallis, Oregon, with a statewide role that extends to Bend through OSU-Cascades and to communities across all 36 Oregon counties through the OSU Extension Service. Founded in 1868 and designated Oregon’s land grant institution, the university combines undergraduate, graduate, and professional education with research and public service. Its academic portfolio includes more than 200 undergraduate and more than 100 graduate degree programs, and it is one of only a small number of U.S. universities to hold land, sea, space, and sun grant designations.

The university’s work centers on teaching, research, and engagement in fields that are closely tied to Oregon’s economy and environment, including agriculture, forestry, marine science, engineering, health, and natural resources. Oregon State operates the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport and supports statewide outreach through 4-H Youth Development, family and community health programs, and agricultural and forestry extension. The institution also has a major online presence through Ecampus, which offers a broad range of online degrees and courses to learners beyond Corvallis.
