NextEra Energy Foundation invests in education access for Florida students through a structured scholarship portfolio tied to academic progression, workforce preparation, and energy-sector career pathways. Its scholarship activity centers on eligible Florida high school seniors and undergraduates who plan to continue their education, with support available for study at accredited 2-year colleges, 4-year colleges and universities, and vocational-technical schools. The foundation’s current scholarship framework includes renewable awards of $5,000 annually for up to four years, for a maximum of $20,000.

Under The NextEra Energy Scholarship Awards, applicants submit one application for consideration across multiple opportunities, including the Students in SECME Program, the FPL Trade and Technical Program, the FPL Workforce Ready Undergraduate Program, and the FPL Workforce Ready Associates Program. These programs target distinct student groups, from Florida high school seniors in counties such as Brevard, Broward, Escambia, Flagler, Hendry, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Seminole, and Volusia, to full-time students in Florida trade schools, community colleges, technical centers, and universities.
