The foundation was established as part of the Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard Redevelopment Project with an explicit mission to strengthen the Bayview community while the neighborhood’s physical environment undergoes transformation. For the 2026 cycle, the scholarship carried a June 3, 2026 deadline and award amounts ranging from $1,000 to $6,000. Eligibility includes youth and young adults up to age 30, high school seniors and graduates, current undergraduate and graduate students, and households at or below 100% of the 2025 HUD San Francisco Area Median Income level for household size. The foundation links educational support to a broader economic vision for Bayview Hunters Point. Its stated goal is to help build a well-educated, highly skilled workforce as a foundation for a stronger local economy and a higher quality of life in the neighborhood.
