The Koniag Education Foundation (KEF) is a nonprofit organization established in 1998, dedicated to supporting the educational aspirations of Alaska Native people, particularly those from the Kodiak region. The foundation aims to provide scholarships, grants, and educational programs that enhance the academic and professional development of its beneficiaries. KEF is committed to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Alutiiq people while fostering educational opportunities that empower individuals and communities. The foundation operates under the auspices of Koniag, Inc., the Alaska Native corporation for the Kodiak region, which was formed in 1972 as part of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).
