H.E.R.O. for Children improves the quality of life for children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS through enriching programs, unforgettable experiences, and connections with the community. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered with the Georgia Secretary of State, and it identifies itself as the only organization in Georgia solely focused on quality-of-life care for children with HIV/AIDS. Its headquarters are in Roswell, Georgia. The organization’s work is structured around programs that address social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs for children and teens. Super HEROs Mentoring is a one-on-one mentoring program for children ages 6 to 16 that supports cognitive skills, self-esteem, academic performance, social and communication abilities, and goal-setting through guidance from positive role models.
