Florida Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association advances the professional community serving death care in Florida and connects funeral, cemetery, and cremation practitioners through membership, events, recognition, and educational support. Its headquarters are listed in Tallahassee, Florida, and its programming spans both professional development and member engagement, including an annual convention and trade show, an embalming seminar, CemeteryCon, industry resources, and pathways for people who want to become a Florida funeral director. A defining part of the association’s work is its scholarships and awards program, administered with the FCCFA Foundation. The foundation offers four scholarships annually totaling more than $7,000. Those awards include the Corinne Olvey and Judy Ralph Scholarship, with two $2,500 scholarships for attendance at ICCFA-U; the Doug Stowell and Mortuary Sciences Scholarships, with three $1,000 scholarships for students studying mortuary science; the FCCFA Foundation Academic Scholarship, a $1,250 award for children of FCCFA members to help with college expenses; and the FCCFA Cemeterian Scholarship, a $300 award to offset the cost of attending FCCFA CemeteryCon. The association also recognizes professional achievement through awards such as Funeral Director of the Year, Cemeterian of the Year, Supplier of the Year, Rising Star Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award. FCCFA’s awards process is structured around member participation. Any member in good standing may submit a nomination, including self-nominations, and each submission requires a 150-word essay. Nominees provide a brief biography and supporting documentation for committee review, and winners are notified in June before being honored at the FCCFA Annual Convention & Trade Show. This combination of education funding, peer recognition, and statewide professional programming positions FCCFA as a central trade association presence for Florida’s cemetery, cremation, and funeral field.
