- This program is open to residents of who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, or school of the arts in any state. Students attending schools in and paying instate tuition qualify as residents. Applications are accepted for work or study in the following artistic fields: crafts, drawing, painting, film/video, mixed media, printmaking, photography, or sculpture. Applicants may apply in only 1 of these categories. Only noncommercial, non-instructional projects over which the applicant had control and primary creative responsibility will be considered. Applications must be accompanied by work samples completed within the past 3 years, a resume, transcripts, and a 200word artistic statement about the work being submitted. Awards are made to those applicants with the highest artistic merit. U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required. Some of the funds for this program come from a foundation that requires consideration of the financial need for making awards; candidates who demonstrate such need qualify for those funds.
