  • This program is open to graduating high school seniors who are interested in learning more about the arts (e.g., film, visual, performing, design), the sciences (e.g., natural, biological, chemical, planetary), or the humanities (e.g., language, literature, social sciences, business) at those pertain to Latino communities and cultures. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (DACA students are eligible if they have proof of DACA status, a valid work authorization permit, and a valid Social Security number), fluent in English, and accepted for full-time enrollment at a 2- or 4-year college or university in the following fall. They must be interested in spending a week during the summer at the in Washington, D.C. for a training seminar and then participating in an internship at their choice of 26 museums, galleries, or other cultural institutions in 17 cities in the United States and Puerto Rico. If they complete the internship, they receive a stipend for tuition in the following fall. Selection is based on excellence in the arts, sciences, or humanities; academic record; leadership experience; commitment to education; and service learning and engagement with the Latino community.
