- This program is open to residents of Kansas entering or continuing at a college, university, or community college in the state. Applicants must be working on a degree in agriculture or a related field. They must submit a cover letter describing their background, livestock enterprise, career and education plans, a most important achievement, and why they deserve a scholarship. Preference is given to students at Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University entering their junior or senior year and majoring in animal science with a career goal of being actively engaged in livestock production. Financial need is not considered in the selection process. The program provides a scholarship for at least 1 student from the county that turns in the most cartridges the previous year.
