• Applicants for this scholarship must be active or associate members of the association or their children or grandchildren (under the age of 26). Children, age 21 or under, of deceased members who were active and paid up at the time of their death are also eligible. Spouses are not eligible unless they are members of the association. ROTC members do not qualify as sponsors. Entering and continuing undergraduates must provide evidence of full-time enrollment at a regionally-accredited 4-year college or university, demonstrate leadership qualities, have earned a GPA of 3.3 or higher in high school and 3.0 or higher in college, have scored at least 1875 on the SAT or 55 on the English/math ACT, and (if appropriate) have registered for the draft. Applicants for a master's degree must have earned a GPA of 3.2 or higher as an undergraduate; applicants for a doctoral degree must have received a master's degree or been accepted into a doctoral program. All applicants must submit a 500-word essay on career goals. Selection is based on that essay, academic excellence, extracurricular activities and leadership, and letters of recommendation.
